1. Room booking

How do I book?

Q.

Who is eligible to book with The Pod Living?

A.

Students who can prove that they have gained acceptance to Pan Atlantic University to study either an undergraduate or masters course.

Q.

What is the booking process?

A.

Registering with your bio data, providing proof of acceptance, making payment for accommodation.

Q.

Can I choose who I share a room with?

A.

Yes you can, the booking system will allow you to provide the full name and matriculation number of your prospective room mate in your registration, and we’ll look out for their application.

Q.

Can I make a group booking?

A.

Yes you can. Details of all prospective residents will be required.

2. Room Viewings

Can I view the rooms virtually?

A.

Unfortunately this is not possible. Kindly contact us and we will try to arrange a video call viewing.

Q.

Are show rooms available to see?

A.

Yes, we will be happy to give you a tour of the property and our show rooms on a pre-scheduled visit.

3. Rent Payments

How much is the Advanced License Fee?

A.

What is your cancellation policy?

A.

Cancellation are not available once bookings have been made. However should you wish to withdraw prior to your arrival, kindly let us know and we will try to accommodate this if we have a replacement booking for the same room type after we have reached capacity.

Do I have to pay a caution fee?

A.

Yes. This will be required in advance of arrival.

4. What’s Included

What bills do I have to pay?

A.

Your eating and laundry are excluded from your accommodation.

Q.

Is bedding included?

A.

No. You will have to bring with you your bed sheets, duvets and pillow. We have teamed up with Mouka foam to supply your mattress. This can be arranged on your arrival date at an additional cost.

Is there WiFi?

Yes.

Q.

Is insurance Included?

A.

We have building insurance for all of our properties. However we do not provided content insurance for your rooms. This can be arranged separately.

Q.

Do I have to bring my furniture?

A.

A desk, chair, bed and wardrobe are provided in our rooms for each student. You may wish to bring with you a laundry bag and a table mirror if necessary.

Q.

Can you cater to disability needs?

A.

Yes we can. We have a disability room available which includes a properly equipped disability bathroom.

5. Moving In

Q.

Can I move in Early?

A.

Move in is available from the Friday before the start of the academic term.

Q.

Can I bring my car?

A.

We have limited parking spaces available and do not encourage students to bring their cars. However this is available on a first come first serve basis and we cannot be held liable for anything that happens to your car.

Can I bring my bike?

A.

Yes. We have a bicycle rack in the premises.

What do I need to bring?

A.

Your essentials and a happy smile.

6. Staying with us

Q.

What is a guarantor?

A.

A person that guarantees your lease payments.

Can I smoke on the premises?

A.

Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the premises including our bedrooms.

Q.

Where do I wash my clothes?

A.

A pay laundry facility is available for your washing to be done for you. We also provide an area for self-handwashing and air drying of clothes on a clothes line outside.

What items am I not allowed to bring with me?

A.

Dangerous and harmful weapons, drugs, pets, microwaves, electric cookers.

Q.

Can I move out early?

A.

Yes. Just let us know in advance.

Q.

Can I store my stuff with you over the holidays?

A.

Once you’ve booked for the year, the room remains yours for the academic year. Therefore you can keep your personal effects there over the Christmas and easter breaks if you wish to do so. Personal effects cannot be stored in rooms over the summer holidays. All items must be removed from the premises during this period.

Q.

How will I get to know people at The Student Pod?

A.

As a student hub, we plan and host events throughout the academic calendar to encourage networking and getting to know each other. Once you have registered, you will be provided a link to join our Facebook community group.

Q.

What happens if I need to make a complaint?

A.

Complaints can be registered with the Resident Manager.

Q.

What happens if I have a maintenance issue in my room?

A.

This should be communicated to the Resident Manager
